10,000 Carrots Rabbit Rescue is a small non-profit, unfunded organization that is devoted to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of abused, abandoned and unwanted domesticated rabbits in Nova Scotia.
Over the last 12 years, we have helped over 1200 rabbits 90-95% of which have come to us from outside.
All of our rabbits that are available for adoption have been examined by a veterinarian, have been treated for internal and external parasites, have been spayed or neutered, and vaccinated against Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease (RHD)

HOW YOU CAN HELP
There are so many ways that you can help us with the work that we do with abused, abandoned and unwanted domesticated rabbits. We receive no outside funding and operate on donations from our loyal supporters, as well as fundraisers and services we provide such as nail trims.
We are a small but mighty dedicated group of animal lovers who stand in the gap for these small, loving, sentient creatures who deserve so much more than they have been given.
We are a small group of people who are passionate about rabbits wanting to do all we can to make the lives of all rabbits better, safer and more fulfilling.
We are not affiliated with the SPCA or with any other rescues and do not receive any financial assistance or funding from any sources other than from our loyal supporters. We can't do what we do for the rabbits without your help and support

We are a small but mighty group of bunny-lovers who are passionate about rabbits, their care and advocating for thir rights.
We are not affiliated with any other rescues and receive no funding outside of the fundraising we do on our own.
As such, we are limited in the help we are able to offer to people and the rabbits in their care.
We have adopted the mandate of helping the ones most in need, and will assist in any way that we can.
We do not have a shelter. All the rabbits in our care are kept in private foster homes, so we are NOT able to "squeeze one in".
When we say we have no space, we honestly have no space and we do this to protect the health of the ones currently in our care.
There is no timeline as to when a rabbit will go to a home - there are no deadlines in this rescue.
When spaces do come available, they do not last long.
Please know, we understand your concerns, that life throws curve-balls and that things happen to make surrendering the only feasible option.
There is no judgement that will come from this rescue and the few volunteers that make it run.

RHD News
Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease is on the move across Canada and the USA. We have no known cases here in Nova Scotia yet, but it is getting very close here. We need to act fast to protect the rabbits here in Nova Scotia and be proactive and preventative by vaccinating them now to give them the immunity they need in case they do come in contact with the virus.
This gives them a fighting chance if they do become exposed, as it is a fatal disease. A cruel and terrible way to die.
